But often times, it is the simple truth that gets the job done.

A class has just finished learning about ‘measurements’ in Science, and built a rudimentary weighing scale. Every group has one of these — the kids have built them together. The classroom looks messy — it probably is and always will be when children are playing to learn. The children have put rubbers and sharpeners on their scales and talked about what was heavier and why. Some questions answered, but even more raised — a great place to be after doing an experiment.
The teacher sounds exasperated. She’s filming at the end of the class — to share with the rest of the teachers in Taleemabad’s digital ecosystem. Sometimes its for appreciation, from their peers in 13 other schools. Sometimes another teacher will point out a flaw, or share their own version of the same lesson. They’ll all learn from each other.
This is the kind of classroom every child wants to be in. Once that is figured out, the rest of it follows — better results, better admissions, better sustainability for each school.
Here’s the best part. We neither own these schools, nor pay their teachers. All schools are independently run by entrepreneurs. We simply give them a tech-platform that enables them to run great classrooms and then fret endlessly about their experience and satisfaction.
When we started, everyone said the teachers would never implement the instructions/content we gave them. They do.
We were told they would never show up voluntarily for our remote teacher training. They do.
We were told they would never put their heart into the process. Yet they do, day in, day out.
We assumed greatness in these teachers till they proved us wrong. That bet is beginning to bear fruit.
We’re at 13 schools, and will soon hit 40. And we’re not stopping till we can get this into millions of classrooms across the globe.
